About us

What we put into our name

No one lives by their own strength alone. The land we were born on, the people we meet, the chances that come our way — we live within these turns of fate.

Across Japan, there is work that has been handed down through these turns: what makers have built up in tea fields, knife workshops and kilns. It has yet to fully reach the people around the world who truly need it.

meguri begins by not overestimating our own strength — by placing ourselves where good currents are already flowing. We visit the producing regions, visit the shops that use their goods, and build connections one by one.

And one day, we will stand at the center of that flow and become the ones who weave good circulation between makers and users. Wherever we stand, we will pass on what we have received to the next person. That is the promise we put into our name.

Vision

めぐりに身をあずけ、めぐりを編む。
Trust the flow. Then weave it.

From relying not only on our own strength but entrusting ourselves to the flow around us, to one day standing at its center and weaving it. “Weave” is a word of handwork — a nod to our being a company that deals in what craftspeople make.

How we work

1. Visit the regions

We visit fields and factories to see for ourselves how makers think and how this year’s harvest turned out.

2. Visit the shops

We keep visiting shops overseas to learn about their menus, the volumes they use and how they think about pricing.

3. Deliver what fits each shop

Knowing both the regions and the shops, we choose what suits each shop — and keep visiting after delivery.
